Watching the Channel

At last a sailing picture...or better a picture of a sailboat motoring into Ensenada Honda in Culebra today! The weather is still windy with high wave action...should be improving by Wednesday for a few days...we shall see! The trade winds came early this year and seem to enjoy themselves "out there"...30-40 knots with waves as high as 10 feet with 7 second intervals has almost been a standard affair these past weeks! We don't have to be out there in this, so we are staying on our mooring. There is always something to do on the boat...we never get bored...really and truly! As soon as the weather permits we shall be out and about sailing on ORION again :)
In the meantime my captain changed the starter battery (the old one was beyond repair) to a new one...now we are waiting for a small solar panel to trickle charge the windlass battery and we shall be back in business when we need to drop the anchor...this of course can be done manually as well, but with an all chain rode who wants to do this?
Here is another photo of Ensenada Honda as we see it from ORION...the big sailboat is now anchored to the right of the smaller sailboat that is sailing out of the bay.
