We like Blogger and will do some occasional updates here, but the Facebook page ORION is where you will find most of the action from now on...it is just so much easier, and I want to spend less time on the internet and more time sailing :) Love to all of you from Rick and Sue on ORION <3<br />

We took an airplane trip to New Hampshire in June to visit Rick's dad Harvey, who celebrated his 95th birthday this year :) We then flew to Miami to spend some time with our kids there...then returned to our boat in time for hurricane watches.<div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">We fared well during the hurricane season with not much storm activity affecting us here in Culebra, PR. </span><div><div><br></div><div>We sailed quite a bit around Culebra area and to Vieques, and also took a nice 4day land retreat at Club Seabourne taking advantage of a special offer they had at the time :) Now it is already the end of December! Rick and I are enjoying the cooler temperatures associated with "winter time" in the Caribbean :) We are off sailing again on ORION, exploring Vieques and visiting with friends we have here...life is good!</div></div></div><div><br></div><div>I will be starting a Facebook blog for ORION soon...most probably will link this blog to it or vice versa...will see how it goes, as it is so easy to update from Facebook. Best thing is that you do not need to be a member of Facebook to get blog updates...if it is a public page (which is what I will create) it can be reached by anybody through a link...we will let you have details and the link :)</div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Rick and I wish you all </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">a Happy Holiday Season and a Happy and Healthy New Year 2015 when it arrives. </span></div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for following our life on ORION...much love always...until soon again with increased enthusiasm for updating the blog ;)</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB_Q9tGNNFG48ZZwsIaX7xCgq5-NTwplZXUA61xu7AHl2JH8a3iLjM6lEfbHwdblrV3-8idVJ4NuvXl00C2pEuSJgGbMljfNAPa2TYvEIX0qNE-fva4CW8u9Pc1OpaETWbOrIXXqLMsmAt/s640/blogger-image-2101222170.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB_Q9tGNNFG48ZZwsIaX7xCgq5-NTwplZXUA61xu7AHl2JH8a3iLjM6lEfbHwdblrV3-8idVJ4NuvXl00C2pEuSJgGbMljfNAPa2TYvEIX0qNE-fva4CW8u9Pc1OpaETWbOrIXXqLMsmAt/s640/blogger-image-2101222170.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-76087948208841075312014-03-21T23:39:00.001-04:002014-03-21T23:39:00.891-04:00Willi's visit...more fun<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY_A_qY7zna-po3P4lPEnWc9jPuWqzLb7XXCVh-5h-5MsNrLCqbQlaSW1c8CiWL1jr-_8mBjRwGhvegFLNN2r1eL6skIYIcJpjvEZuco5b38_7W6UDEfobGS4wx8e6IqysikXF2qj6xNdU/s640/blogger-image-123157597.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhY_A_qY7zna-po3P4lPEnWc9jPuWqzLb7XXCVh-5h-5MsNrLCqbQlaSW1c8CiWL1jr-_8mBjRwGhvegFLNN2r1eL6skIYIcJpjvEZuco5b38_7W6UDEfobGS4wx8e6IqysikXF2qj6xNdU/s640/blogger-image-123157597.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Flamenco Beach, Culebra is the third top beach in the world according to Trip Advisor...yap! Sailing would have been better of course, but Willi is not a sailor...no problem...we went to Flamenco Beach every day and also roamed around the island's other beaches...dined out almost every evening (yes, we are all on a "eat less diet" now), and spent time at beautiful Club Seabourne Hotel, a simply magnificent place with professional and friendly staff...Willi's home away from home for three weeks! Very cool Teri :)</div><br></div></div>We left Culebrita on Saturday morning...firstly because we wanted to be back in Culebra to attend the annual fundraiser for the Culebra Animal Society...secondly because the "Puerto Rican Navy" was arriving at Culebrita for the three day weekend! The Puerto Rican Navy is an abundance of power boaters that invade the shores of Culebrita and various other normally quiet anchorages during weekends and holidays...they raft up as many boats as they can (usually around 15-20!) and start partying! It's good to see and hear them having fun, but we and most other sailors prefer to retreat to some other more quiet places...only to return after everybody has left...that's the privilege we have being free as birds and we take advantage of it whenever we can :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe63jBzCixnopcyPUCOZmRu_PnptyTYXOEJ9F0XH79RtManJ5PjcFdDTgxIgE1dbdhevbTY19RQhqfTE_pg8z71-23rJcsst1rXAb2GLcCpVNWyAM5g1ZBPvHqevVUuxJ27mufVjeZlEbD/s640/blogger-image-933962042.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe63jBzCixnopcyPUCOZmRu_PnptyTYXOEJ9F0XH79RtManJ5PjcFdDTgxIgE1dbdhevbTY19RQhqfTE_pg8z71-23rJcsst1rXAb2GLcCpVNWyAM5g1ZBPvHqevVUuxJ27mufVjeZlEbD/s640/blogger-image-933962042.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We had a beautiful sail back under jib only...<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYaN_UAwNh7zkDtp9mEb2O6lSuUAIcV4xfLC4u4eGwgrp91OvwLqPGkJFMnDwtZ2LpjLG_WFm839SitmAn5RNnvCm_-evnjzxYYPddpVFjpn_xBsyICq7RRzxXvz9M591EWXADPvikqp0a/s640/blogger-image-844553534.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYaN_UAwNh7zkDtp9mEb2O6lSuUAIcV4xfLC4u4eGwgrp91OvwLqPGkJFMnDwtZ2LpjLG_WFm839SitmAn5RNnvCm_-evnjzxYYPddpVFjpn_xBsyICq7RRzxXvz9M591EWXADPvikqp0a/s640/blogger-image-844553534.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">and were able to take some nice photos of SV Adastra underway :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs_oJbA0AkMYCW5YwvumXwIVaPoyz3sn-E26lIxWcvplDnYvx2UkwfgcRElPbatoR3oUU2CIRN0u4CWNuvoVgWAEaaTxke3vHmavwoOh9wHyqkI09hwx-jpajEJDFTwBZMI_KiTNKN_pHu/s640/blogger-image--1679603189.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs_oJbA0AkMYCW5YwvumXwIVaPoyz3sn-E26lIxWcvplDnYvx2UkwfgcRElPbatoR3oUU2CIRN0u4CWNuvoVgWAEaaTxke3vHmavwoOh9wHyqkI09hwx-jpajEJDFTwBZMI_KiTNKN_pHu/s640/blogger-image--1679603189.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Bob and Judy took some pics of ORION underway, which I will post as soon as I get them...</div></div></div></div><br></div><br></div></span></div></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-21580271480819573172014-02-16T13:27:00.001-04:002014-02-16T13:27:12.441-04:00Another beautiful day in Paradise<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1bHXQV6qt6Z5JH3D0S7NRUXd-hdy_J7ZdosV02lW8AHhC3zH86N1e70kFDbVipUpZTi6_6RbFyp7EG0ITl5bZ9WYDkyUqmo4GpuswpCU79jTB9a2_I3I3eqdQHF30Eh_fImOhS6uEffpl/s640/blogger-image--913690997.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1bHXQV6qt6Z5JH3D0S7NRUXd-hdy_J7ZdosV02lW8AHhC3zH86N1e70kFDbVipUpZTi6_6RbFyp7EG0ITl5bZ9WYDkyUqmo4GpuswpCU79jTB9a2_I3I3eqdQHF30Eh_fImOhS6uEffpl/s640/blogger-image--913690997.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Rick and I like to walk when we are not sailing...Culebra is a great place for long walks...the terrain is hilly and there is usually a nice cool sea breeze :) We usually walk for about 2-3 hours and on return to ORION take a nice cool swim in the ocean...what's not to like? "El Legado Continua"..."The Legend Continues" is an annual festival in Culebra...in memory and in honor of Victor Felix Munet, aka Cucuito, who helped the community including cruisers after Hurricane Hugo! His daughter Mayra told us about it and extended a warm welcome to attend :) It was a nice change from the ordinary and an honor to be there! I advertised the event on my Facebook group "Culebra Cruisers" and it was a pleasure to see many cruisers there as well as locals :) Cucuito was an avid steel drum player...so a steel drum band played all night life on the stage! Videos were shown of old recordings from 1997 in the town plaza of Culebra with Cucuito and his band in action...fun! Even three guys on high stilts walked around and danced :) An evening to remember for sure! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgebwiVsC37h2uRL-wk5I4bE-bYdv6J70RxMsspMP0WIc-ZwdvgK6TMfioOTcuWPoZ-87PmVRknPTUlR_RmjHwvMuRiGVznBmXdAPGIjJfIk2Z0IkrQfuab9W1gbERwZeci7ag8fHmrd14F/s640/blogger-image-707268458.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgebwiVsC37h2uRL-wk5I4bE-bYdv6J70RxMsspMP0WIc-ZwdvgK6TMfioOTcuWPoZ-87PmVRknPTUlR_RmjHwvMuRiGVznBmXdAPGIjJfIk2Z0IkrQfuab9W1gbERwZeci7ag8fHmrd14F/s640/blogger-image-707268458.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We ran into Don and Matt and Jennifer in the plaza...yes, the same ones we were partying with the night before...<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY0dbWih1hSiUyX2514aH2usdK89KdBwOMNYd4biWaKihoMLN4jcmBTSP08Xs6CCUrsVD7SHw6fEtvqbmIPObnKj4oZHQNzVhrHO55WC8An0PF1xYBvAmpsAE7WPmqoCiHw_g0GlAUE9UZ/s640/blogger-image--96977768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY0dbWih1hSiUyX2514aH2usdK89KdBwOMNYd4biWaKihoMLN4jcmBTSP08Xs6CCUrsVD7SHw6fEtvqbmIPObnKj4oZHQNzVhrHO55WC8An0PF1xYBvAmpsAE7WPmqoCiHw_g0GlAUE9UZ/s640/blogger-image--96977768.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">They were eating at "Heather's Pizza" and joined us in the plaza later on...here I am with Jennifer...Her and Matt are a super nice couple...they are our kids' ages...so now I am missing my kids! We arrived under main sail at the west side of Culebra where everybody had settled in for the day...two mooring balls are available off the beach there, but the were both taken, so we anchored...then dinghied over to SV Coconut where Don had a party going, because it was Judy's birthday! We had such a great time...met new friends Matt and Jennifer, who had come out with Don...and Terry, who is best friends with Bob and Judy of SV Adastra! We had BBQ and lots of drinks...I even got out my guitar and played a little (I only do that when I had a few wines, hahahaha)! It was so good to be with our dear friends again for a while! We went back to ORION late in the evening and had a good sleep indeed...a strong cool breeze was blowing all night which made it comfortable :) <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEXEhRoETVsT8fs0PrFmBIclsPR8mdxirsQyz0J-tfnCtfAJ1yITyn4PfOVEgqLlHR2qFDoEHUe2AdOgXyV7Av8HiAkcIgfueSePOEx8-31lj_qbbWnT1EkSLl2Dv_MCjwKkVle27vobpD/s640/blogger-image--652057964.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEXEhRoETVsT8fs0PrFmBIclsPR8mdxirsQyz0J-tfnCtfAJ1yITyn4PfOVEgqLlHR2qFDoEHUe2AdOgXyV7Av8HiAkcIgfueSePOEx8-31lj_qbbWnT1EkSLl2Dv_MCjwKkVle27vobpD/s640/blogger-image--652057964.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We had a fabulous sail the next day...sailed under full sails all the way back to our mooring ball in Culebra...we would have stayed a little longer, but wanted to attend a local festival Saturday evening in town! It is funny, because it all started with a misunderstanding! Our cruiser friends Bob and Judy are still in Culebra and somehow I thought we were going to sail to Culebrita today...turns out it was meant for tomorrow ;) But hey, we got ORION ready in just 20 minutes...for my landlubber friends: for sailing we need to take off all sun covers, get the main sail cover unzipped, stow anything that has a potential to fly around the cabin during rough seas, secure the dinghy to be towed, etc etc etc...and off we went :) It was a fabulous sail in perfect winds with seas just a little on the high side, but just enough to give us a speedy wonderful journey under full sails! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghx4bZzbhbmQ1ZB9kl5DtlcXPzXvKYX4wknGZ8Fi9igKqMIJBP6dXDxkhV4t44zmhjC2MgOLn8Uo-qhxHi_64QYqNngnca7ZJVpFcavqrX18t884smobrZmlBHNt-B3R8Z_v58zLlmeWXY/s640/blogger-image-1105235081.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghx4bZzbhbmQ1ZB9kl5DtlcXPzXvKYX4wknGZ8Fi9igKqMIJBP6dXDxkhV4t44zmhjC2MgOLn8Uo-qhxHi_64QYqNngnca7ZJVpFcavqrX18t884smobrZmlBHNt-B3R8Z_v58zLlmeWXY/s640/blogger-image-1105235081.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Our destination was Culebrita, a nearby sister island of Culebra...we made it there in good time only to find that there were too many boats there already :/...there was a huge motor yacht and several sailboats, entirely too many for our liking...so we turned around and set sail to Melones, a nice anchorage just passed the ferry dock in Culebra. We passed Bahia Almodovar on the way...a quiet anchorage behind a big reef...several sailboats were there also, maybe waiting their turn to go to Culebrita?<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVqtuOCgN1PUx06PUazwb16USPSDiHWqu0w5HgnNhiF0GHyUuVMcrdEyDLJ18Q-uCF-DDDviNQuKJ17ui96n1UcryNBZOLOevYba3Uk5p878zhLLTcko-NOPioOR950kM1M-JJX7A74jQY/s640/blogger-image--777684288.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVqtuOCgN1PUx06PUazwb16USPSDiHWqu0w5HgnNhiF0GHyUuVMcrdEyDLJ18Q-uCF-DDDviNQuKJ17ui96n1UcryNBZOLOevYba3Uk5p878zhLLTcko-NOPioOR950kM1M-JJX7A74jQY/s640/blogger-image--777684288.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We continued on and really enjoyed riding the waves and feeling the wind...we could tell ORION felt the same :) Later on we decided to go back to our mooring and sail to Melones or Tamarindo tomorrow...after all, there is no rush...we live here and can go any time we want :) So tomorrow will be another sailing day and hopefully our wakes will meet with Bob and Judy of SV Adastra and Don of SV Rover...we shall see! Definitely a snorkel day out there somewhere :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh10JhRM1qFwdvuycuOWIbxO966iXf2S1VIRbZygJRT_Lmd_egrDudP7kqhfJNl36sbZLVS1xykZNrne8j_2rGwQzig8LJd_0HSfoDRTC3S7xdgmJpk_2G_PwBkvfvm3F_MVRSVqRPi7jR2/s640/blogger-image--1387526740.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh10JhRM1qFwdvuycuOWIbxO966iXf2S1VIRbZygJRT_Lmd_egrDudP7kqhfJNl36sbZLVS1xykZNrne8j_2rGwQzig8LJd_0HSfoDRTC3S7xdgmJpk_2G_PwBkvfvm3F_MVRSVqRPi7jR2/s640/blogger-image--1387526740.jpg"></a></div></div></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-48605399005320291802014-02-06T17:26:00.001-04:002014-02-06T17:26:01.418-04:00Sunset DinnerThe other evening we invited our friend Phil of SV Fisher Isle for dinner and had a great time :) Phil really likes Culebra and will stay for a while...he is anchored in the same bay where we have our mooring. You may remember from an earlier post that we had Phil over before...yes...together with our friend Larry from Salinas when he was anchored nearby :) We had cottage pie and zucchini quiche and red onion salad...desert was key lime pie which we bought at Milka's, the grocery store in town. We had some good talks about our sailing backgrounds and how we love this lifestyle! It is always nice to be with fellow cruisers...especially the ones that do not need the party life too often and enjoy peace and tranquility the same way we do! We really like Phil :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV8ioicErhh7lieqFAoawLk2ljVJKz4BqiaoXSYh_Lj_QuYLgSLh1hun1PBnhpeaW5lxMXzgXOS5BkzQzG6HdwLWG0jRaXp2xGVHs_TESJ2iaNj4wV6-pDZWRiv3L2tODS39h3niz6dXip/s640/blogger-image--2014787439.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV8ioicErhh7lieqFAoawLk2ljVJKz4BqiaoXSYh_Lj_QuYLgSLh1hun1PBnhpeaW5lxMXzgXOS5BkzQzG6HdwLWG0jRaXp2xGVHs_TESJ2iaNj4wV6-pDZWRiv3L2tODS39h3niz6dXip/s640/blogger-image--2014787439.jpg"></a></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-39122211489505168112014-01-31T22:32:00.001-04:002014-01-31T22:48:30.347-04:00The Week in ReviewWell...it is Friday already... This week went by fast! We really did not do too much this week apart from our trip to Fajardo...the beauty of the cruiser life is that you are able to choose your chores :) Right now the weather is pretty stormy again, so we prefer to stay put on our mooring...there is always something that needs to be done on the boat, and there is always another day for it to be done, hahahaha...unless of course it is an emergency! So we decided to take it easy and went for lunch at Dinghy Dock one day and Zaco's Tacos on another day...<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOQn6vC7tji7DfUcxnx4T0iKtYT1OD_hcnJObwV4286iYVQWpc67SEJHuoe_uIXiq8T6cA5S9-xtqzXUUCe3mmeuHyg-fW_13MiKHaPV8SYbQWX4l7dZ2XjOuWEYYk4T4Yimm4DZQ_i5a/s640/blogger-image--2032941261.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOQn6vC7tji7DfUcxnx4T0iKtYT1OD_hcnJObwV4286iYVQWpc67SEJHuoe_uIXiq8T6cA5S9-xtqzXUUCe3mmeuHyg-fW_13MiKHaPV8SYbQWX4l7dZ2XjOuWEYYk4T4Yimm4DZQ_i5a/s640/blogger-image--2032941261.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Then we met our good friends and fellow cruisers as well as fellow Morgan owners Bob and Judy for a drink at Dinghy Dock after Judy's return from visiting her daughter in the States...we had a great time...<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBxiSgBydfSH-gq0Yat3HmWlETrwU8j_NhUdQvka8tgmZF7xgl-gwVe7Kt7coMrtALN0lkpDCoL8-Hx1I1tAvWRgaFylFXSbI9pPbbqOMNG2u0olIVfBA-qmV13FncTKneFMy4EPaYr8Hp/s640/blogger-image--816048915.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBxiSgBydfSH-gq0Yat3HmWlETrwU8j_NhUdQvka8tgmZF7xgl-gwVe7Kt7coMrtALN0lkpDCoL8-Hx1I1tAvWRgaFylFXSbI9pPbbqOMNG2u0olIVfBA-qmV13FncTKneFMy4EPaYr8Hp/s640/blogger-image--816048915.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTqSJvBJDjNmEptVdSWTvXmQDnqKtfY1FwsqoMb_ysawzR1osWlJP7xSs2GuNw9V5jEajWjjbapdnHP0wl3cnnXp9heIMaHAl1oI_mPfX-JLn1uwKzLc3UHM9uBtDpdIG69elOOznREY7f/s640/blogger-image-1932599256.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTqSJvBJDjNmEptVdSWTvXmQDnqKtfY1FwsqoMb_ysawzR1osWlJP7xSs2GuNw9V5jEajWjjbapdnHP0wl3cnnXp9heIMaHAl1oI_mPfX-JLn1uwKzLc3UHM9uBtDpdIG69elOOznREY7f/s640/blogger-image-1932599256.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix_EnwYgidqtLMHdMgnt0ksqgUbwbmrjCL9WINERxmzqqbcO10JvxSvvuuLI72rFbdtx-1zQjFmLWnNVYoC40jv24oPokmO43eAS47ajh0ath4WwokatJxSE55laH5xPrXOr54XIxq0CqV/s640/blogger-image--533658125.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix_EnwYgidqtLMHdMgnt0ksqgUbwbmrjCL9WINERxmzqqbcO10JvxSvvuuLI72rFbdtx-1zQjFmLWnNVYoC40jv24oPokmO43eAS47ajh0ath4WwokatJxSE55laH5xPrXOr54XIxq0CqV/s640/blogger-image--533658125.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It was a nice reunion and we shall meet up again soon :) The rest of the week we spent grocery shopping and cooking and relaxing. We got up at 5:00 a.m....we need our cup of coffee you know ;)...dinghied into town and made it in plenty time. The ferry ride takes about 1 1/2 hours on the cargo ferry and 45 minutes on the fast passenger only ferry...the 7 o'clock one was the cargo ferry, so we arrived in Fajardo at around 8:30 a.m. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimFC_9gm0GfV4S54AqQuCLTaHwaY_zKPhvXLbeNV_7ykjeBIrd0XxSJXHhnjNkEH7nEuDZG8K0KkVyCUT6E3IK6DaE18srQPM_oQ1tmCRdxqiriOtAyWO82xnAcL7x0FUfdi2Awhf4sLpx/s640/blogger-image--1129899478.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimFC_9gm0GfV4S54AqQuCLTaHwaY_zKPhvXLbeNV_7ykjeBIrd0XxSJXHhnjNkEH7nEuDZG8K0KkVyCUT6E3IK6DaE18srQPM_oQ1tmCRdxqiriOtAyWO82xnAcL7x0FUfdi2Awhf4sLpx/s640/blogger-image--1129899478.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">At the ferry dock in Fajardo there are taxis or publicos which are minivans that take you to the main shopping areas for about 3 bucks per person...it's a convenient way of getting around. Of course for greater shopping or other excursions there are car rentals available. We did some of our shopping and then went for lunch at Ponderosa Steakhouse...thereafter we did the rest of the shopping at West Marine, our favorite marine store there. Yes, there is always something to repair on the boat for which parts are needed! We got a new fishfinder, because our old one gave up its ghost finally! We use the fishfinder on ORION as a visual depth meter...it is a neat tool to have in addition to our charts...one never knows what may be lurking on the bottom of the sea ;) The fishfinder works with sonar, so the beam bounces off whatever it finds and gives us an immediate depth reading. Ah well...we also got some other things and then got out of the store before spending more money, hahahaha...We took a Publico back to the ferry dock and were able to catch the 3:00 p.m. one back to Culebra...yes...it was the fast ferry :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijWRc6xgbpkrzyiDnr9cW1Y-PGW3aVgkazETnTomAkP5LTaLZBooNrCZDas6BuatlkzdOh6KN9Jew42Y8XvXw4b0AgQy3oKA5rwp2nQ9CaepENh2t9eFARgrMLXMwzDZRg44RMQTgjr-x6/s640/blogger-image--116376951.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijWRc6xgbpkrzyiDnr9cW1Y-PGW3aVgkazETnTomAkP5LTaLZBooNrCZDas6BuatlkzdOh6KN9Jew42Y8XvXw4b0AgQy3oKA5rwp2nQ9CaepENh2t9eFARgrMLXMwzDZRg44RMQTgjr-x6/s640/blogger-image--116376951.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Back home on ORION we jumped in the water and then had some snacks and wine...a perfect ending to a busy day :) Oh...and the black rope you see on the photo is new from West Marine also...I will splice it on both ends and make a mooring bridle...actually two mooring bridles...stay tuned :)</div></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-34945198055175387132014-01-26T19:48:00.001-04:002014-01-26T19:48:48.500-04:00Walking in Culebra<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimSCPK12DtfGyVCz3tdP5JlS-I9RB0zWEEHN0VbrgHiwMZb5YU2nUnGpUcp5Vd7mRxogugPGA4Snhnd9uirROl8y-QJgmXaaqDJU9IX7pND_RwVD5hL3fZJbdViix46J7xHs-dC1dSHPbp/s640/blogger-image--309823477.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimSCPK12DtfGyVCz3tdP5JlS-I9RB0zWEEHN0VbrgHiwMZb5YU2nUnGpUcp5Vd7mRxogugPGA4Snhnd9uirROl8y-QJgmXaaqDJU9IX7pND_RwVD5hL3fZJbdViix46J7xHs-dC1dSHPbp/s640/blogger-image--309823477.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Rick and I walk a lot...we really enjoy the exercise and being out and about when we are not sailing. Looking forward to seeing my good friend Judy and giving her a hug when she comes back from traveling :) Until then we'll keep an eye on Bob...promise, hahahaha!<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZaoGClWehrDC4eJbhijfpBZheB8w2C3FLV-fFZCYnJ01t1lHUgbKPOd7-E76wr_4VzKDpj9NLQDnz_mBwIsxPcqrY-pQPxWlXnkcTeuKWmEMzH4lQh27XRNVdg2-SLXXjImsK75bHHEXE/s640/blogger-image--1679481464.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZaoGClWehrDC4eJbhijfpBZheB8w2C3FLV-fFZCYnJ01t1lHUgbKPOd7-E76wr_4VzKDpj9NLQDnz_mBwIsxPcqrY-pQPxWlXnkcTeuKWmEMzH4lQh27XRNVdg2-SLXXjImsK75bHHEXE/s640/blogger-image--1679481464.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Oh...and Leo will keep an eye on all of us ;)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVs2gJBXAYYs1bXeThnZPvOyAU7RSTWiagH9A8xmNujGeq3L9UO_5N6YvEvvyAYBYJdLp8ZE5Kihu2K-RtStlck0w5HQb4ZBYDTnmq4Mu0-JPjLL8NvIxjk6b_OdTcNu0p4nFSAzH9Y-zT/s640/blogger-image-2040878736.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVs2gJBXAYYs1bXeThnZPvOyAU7RSTWiagH9A8xmNujGeq3L9UO_5N6YvEvvyAYBYJdLp8ZE5Kihu2K-RtStlck0w5HQb4ZBYDTnmq4Mu0-JPjLL8NvIxjk6b_OdTcNu0p4nFSAzH9Y-zT/s640/blogger-image-2040878736.jpg"></a></div></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-64421064152487586912014-01-20T16:32:00.001-04:002014-01-20T16:32:52.088-04:00Sunset dinner and seaside saladHere is a pan fried broccoli/red onion/bacon dish that tasted really fabulous...especially since we were having it at sunset :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX8JV9SjAf03vLtWlUN26lRqFOnvHi_VbZb6kBAFyLNBEfE7hVZ3dRh0yLR762zm3I4LWPkkqb6kXcB3q6om1gkTjGWhGW4EHPJLBWHp6FTlwld50M-dKJWDA2EcMotApjoQs6IBNF6PAV/s640/blogger-image-461282790.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX8JV9SjAf03vLtWlUN26lRqFOnvHi_VbZb6kBAFyLNBEfE7hVZ3dRh0yLR762zm3I4LWPkkqb6kXcB3q6om1gkTjGWhGW4EHPJLBWHp6FTlwld50M-dKJWDA2EcMotApjoQs6IBNF6PAV/s640/blogger-image-461282790.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">And here is another quick shaker salad...cucumber/tomato/ranch dressing...this time topped with sliced green grapes and roasted sunflower seeds...a perfect seaside salad...don't you think?<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_U8iAJFIq8FyVe1BmXA8ilGIAgXCi9aST3jhzzQRLMCIzvh3wKc91gJk31XDBhjwp_nUlBvBGo6qlGFmjNt7NbyqsCjO15H0UpvON3vXCBv7CzbRGBccSoPbAWkgDAdxNXT8SE6y-FkXw/s640/blogger-image--124300909.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_U8iAJFIq8FyVe1BmXA8ilGIAgXCi9aST3jhzzQRLMCIzvh3wKc91gJk31XDBhjwp_nUlBvBGo6qlGFmjNt7NbyqsCjO15H0UpvON3vXCBv7CzbRGBccSoPbAWkgDAdxNXT8SE6y-FkXw/s640/blogger-image--124300909.jpg"></a></div></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-8498366831913081112014-01-17T19:47:00.001-04:002014-01-20T16:36:30.233-04:00New solar panel<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif9UeS0Id8oZiocNWj5cMlHL8FbjVnFWGb5_62GRg8b0UnVk6OQyf2fyqQrw40e6NxOjwxLxDNmTTlw7F3Q1Vf0TxuYfXaOJjFDPLL0XIepKZCdudaI1T4F_YF-HbEnPCDgmV3YevLt7iT/s640/blogger-image-2097184406.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif9UeS0Id8oZiocNWj5cMlHL8FbjVnFWGb5_62GRg8b0UnVk6OQyf2fyqQrw40e6NxOjwxLxDNmTTlw7F3Q1Vf0TxuYfXaOJjFDPLL0XIepKZCdudaI1T4F_YF-HbEnPCDgmV3YevLt7iT/s640/blogger-image-2097184406.jpg"></a></div>We were waiting for a solar panel and it arrived today...so we dinghied into town again, had lunch at Dinghy Dock, and then went to the Post Office. The solar panel is a small 18 Watt one to trickle charge our electric windless battery...Rick made all the connections to the battery and put the panel in the sun...works great! It even came with a small regulator and all the wiring stuff was included :) When we are sailing we will put the panel below deck...disconnecting is real easy...and it is just as easy to put back up when we are at anchor or on a mooring. We shall see how things work out long term! So far looking good :)<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEU2RxKTq1QYUteMqF7IHSBd6rcjegDVUWn3dyf7yC-Nd1Lf_Ns-Nff1YAB89Gb2mNPHDCRP4bhuAG0U9uCwH_oRhH6nY6O6PfSzv2-XF5E_zqnGr2DQKrv6-ETUadhezIlTK_p3QF_Ien/s640/blogger-image--650283574.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEU2RxKTq1QYUteMqF7IHSBd6rcjegDVUWn3dyf7yC-Nd1Lf_Ns-Nff1YAB89Gb2mNPHDCRP4bhuAG0U9uCwH_oRhH6nY6O6PfSzv2-XF5E_zqnGr2DQKrv6-ETUadhezIlTK_p3QF_Ien/s640/blogger-image--650283574.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The sun will shine again tomorrow...I caught the last glimps of her for today on the horizon over Dewey tonight :)</div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-52733624817234346012014-01-17T19:34:00.001-04:002014-01-17T19:34:45.909-04:00Food again!Yesterday we went into town again to do grocery shopping and to meet up with our friend Don for lunch at Zaco's Tacos...we had a great time and some good food...Quesedillas and Nachos! We met Don last year...he just returned with his catamaran "Rover" and will stick around for a while. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI3NkpP7WwVE_gugTKVUXMiydOcX1mOuoQVwKfTXIeojub9ZQVrv1KparwCLQLzRgm3bZd4pjSzz4YFx5poPiRj4V-P2G5IJEZiG9iNQzCZgjVxjoCj-7rfybSuxfy8BAYDTNpBzCRSV0D/s640/blogger-image--228733469.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI3NkpP7WwVE_gugTKVUXMiydOcX1mOuoQVwKfTXIeojub9ZQVrv1KparwCLQLzRgm3bZd4pjSzz4YFx5poPiRj4V-P2G5IJEZiG9iNQzCZgjVxjoCj-7rfybSuxfy8BAYDTNpBzCRSV0D/s640/blogger-image--228733469.jpg"></a></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1829392104314383686.post-79943549388030053682014-01-15T19:14:00.001-04:002014-01-15T22:46:42.369-04:00Shepherd's Pie on Stove TopWe haven't had a Shepherd's Pie in ages, so today was the day :) Must admit that I did not make the mashed potatoes from scratch (!)...I used dried potato pearls instead, an easy way to make yummy mashed potatoes in no time at all. They store easily on a boat and all that is needed is hot water, but I put half a stick of butter in the finished mash as well ;)<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFR-mRPp-Woo4WiKJlS7ahh8GNZhR-PWa_UBmNy-Wm_el8l_vgFyBgI_de2o14kjdxzBZgB-_LJHC5BfseLAeKzcN1Fhd40nffBVetFlwIc-Fl1AzJZ3HfX7GmjXRvNTXFD61egFt14Td2/s640/blogger-image--1166873852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFR-mRPp-Woo4WiKJlS7ahh8GNZhR-PWa_UBmNy-Wm_el8l_vgFyBgI_de2o14kjdxzBZgB-_LJHC5BfseLAeKzcN1Fhd40nffBVetFlwIc-Fl1AzJZ3HfX7GmjXRvNTXFD61egFt14Td2/s640/blogger-image--1166873852.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">For the filling I fried a pound of ground beef with onions, then added 2 large cans of lentils and one small can of sweet corn, a bouillon cube, and about half a cup of water...let it simmer for 20 minutes...done! Of course I had to try this in my stove top oven Oshra, so I layered potatoes, the meat, and potatoes again...sprinkled some shredded cheese on top...on low flame for 15 minutes and we had Shepherd's Pie! I used a little cream of chicken soup to splash on top just before eating...it was delicious and we have enough for another day or two :)</div></div>Rick and Sue on Orionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12496899533445420772noreply@blogger.com
